Why waste money and religion? After ‘Sharbat Jihad’, Baba Ramdev’s Patanjali launches another big attack

New Delhi. Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev’s Ayurveda company Patanjali is often in the news. Earlier, Baba Ramdev himself had attacked the country’s famous and old Sharbat brand by mentioning ‘Sharbat Jihad’. He had even called it a toilet cleaner. His company Patanjali has today given an advertisement in the country’s newspapers and brought it to a religious turn. Patanjali has asked people why waste money and religion on the old style Sharbat?

In this advertisement with the punchline ‘Sarvadharma and Rashtradharma are paramount’, Patanjali has tried to give a message to its customers. He wrote, ‘It is a call to all the Rishis and Rishikas’ descendants to keep Patanjali Sharbat at the top of the main shelf of their shops. When Patanjali’s best Gulab Sharbat, Mango Panna, Bel Sharbat, Brahmi Sharbat, Khas Sharbat and Thandai Powder etc. are available, then why waste money and religion on the old style Sharbat?’

Let us tell you that earlier a video of Baba Ramdev went viral, in which he used the term ‘Sharbat Jihad’. In that video, Ramdev claims that a Sharbat selling company uses a part of its earnings to build mosques and madrasas. Patanjali shared this video, the caption of which reads, ‘Save your family and innocent children from the poison of toilet cleaners and cold drinks being sold in the name of Sharbat Jihad. Bring only Patanjali Sharbat and juice to the house.’

In this video, Baba Ramdev is seen criticizing soft drinks. He says that these are like toilet cleaners, which are consumed in the name of quenching thirst in summer. Ramdev calls these soft drinks an attack on the health of Indians and compares them to poison. In the video, Ramdev says, “In the name of quenching thirst in summer, people drink cold beverages which are actually toilet cleaners. On one hand there is an attack of poison like toilet cleaners and on the other hand there is a company selling sherbet which uses the income from it to build mosques and madrasas. This is fine, this is their religion.
