Mumbai. The coalition of Bharatiya Janata Party, Shiv Sena and Nationalist Congress Party has registered a landslide victory in Maharashtra. After this, a big question arose about the next chief minister of the state. This is because the Bharatiya Janata Party has shown its best performance so far in Maharashtra. While the NDA has got 235 seats, BJP alone has got 132 seats. The current Chief Minister of the state Eknath Shinde is in second place with 57 seats.
After this result of Maharashtra, the fight for the post of Chief Minister has been limited to two big leaders. The names of Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis are being discussed in full swing. Claims have also started being made by the leaders of BJP and Shiv Sena. However, while answering the question related to this, both the leaders said that the three parties will decide together who will be the next Chief Minister.
After the spectacular victory of NDA, a question arose about the next Chief Minister of the state. Reacting to this, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde said, “After the final results are out, we will all sit together and decide on this. All the parties will come to this decision together. Just like we fought the elections together.”
Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis also reacted to this question and said that the Chief Minister will be selected together. He said, “There will be no dispute on the face of the Chief Minister. It was decided from the first day that after the elections, the leaders of the three parties will sit together and decide on this issue. This decision will be acceptable to all, there will be no differences on this.”
The Mahayuti, which is ruling Maharashtra, includes Shiv Sena, BJP and Ajit Pawar faction of NCP. However, there have also been reports of some differences emerging within the alliance regarding the post of Chief Minister. Various parties are staking their claim on this post. Shiv Sena MLA and spokesperson Sanjay Shirsat had said on Friday that the assembly elections were fought on the face of Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. He said, “The voters have shown their choice in favour of Shinde through voting. I think it is Shinde’s right. We are confident that he will be the next Chief Minister.”
At the same time, Devendra Fadnavis’ name is being put forward by the BJP. After this spectacular victory in Maharashtra, many central level leaders of the BJP reached his house and celebrated the victory. Now it will be interesting to see who rules Maharashtra. Eknath Shinde or Devendra Fadnavis or BJP tries a new experiment and hands over the responsibility of Maharashtra to a third person.
