After the three-day meeting of the RSS All India Representative Assembly in Bengaluru on March 21, this discussion has intensified in the political corridors. Actually, before this meeting, it was reported that the RSS and BJP high command are not unanimous on the new president. But after the recent meeting, the Sar Sahakaryavah of the All India Representative Assembly (ABPS) of RSS, Arun Kumar, while giving a statement to the media, clearly said that there is no disagreement between the Sangh and BJP on this matter.

At present, the budget session of Parliament is till April 4, after which the BJP National Council meeting is to be held in Bengaluru from 18 to 20 April. In such a situation, there is a possibility that BJP can announce its new president between April 4 and April 17. If BJP sources are to be believed, many names are in discussion for the new national president. Among them, Bhupendra Yadav, Dharmendra Pradhan are now being told to be the front runners.

Bhupendra Yadav, who comes from the OBC community, was in charge of Maharashtra in the Lok Sabha elections 2024. His stature has increased after the formation of the NDA government in Maharashtra. Earlier, Yadav has been in charge of many states, he has the skill to run the organization. Currently Union Minister Bhupendra Yadav was made the national secretary of the party in 2010. He has held many important positions in the party. He is counted among the close aides of PM Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah.

Dharmendra Pradhan came into the limelight in national politics when he was made the national president of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha for the first time in 2007. He is currently the Union Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas. In 2012, he was elected Rajya Sabha MP from Bihar. He has also represented the party in the Lok Sabha from 2004 to 2009. Pradhan is counted among the new generation leaders of BJP.

It is being told that now only a few days are left, either of these two can become the ‘supremo’ of BJP. Apart from these, Union Ministers Manohar Lal Khattar and Nirmala Sitharaman are also not out of the race yet. Apart from this, Shivraj Singh Chauhan’s name is also in the headlines for the post of president. It is believed that Shivraj’s name has a green signal from the Sangh, but BJP is not able to see its new ‘JP Nadda’ in him. Let us tell you that the current national president JP Nadda was made the acting national president of BJP in June 2019. In January 2020, he was formally elected as the national president of the party.

If political pundits are to be believed, Shivraj Singh Chauhan’s name has strong support from many senior and new generation leaders of the party. While due to being close to the RSS, some old leaders are also pushing the name of Union Minister Nitin Gadkari in the race for the national president.

Meanwhile, the claims of two women leaders also seem strong. The first among them is Union Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, who is ahead in the race due to her experience and being close to the top leadership these days. At the same time, a faction of the party is also talking about the name of former CM Vasundhara Raje in the race for the post of president to keep her away from Rajasthan politics.
