‘Whenever there is loss of religion…’, a verse from the Gita written on the police post being built in front of Sambhal Jama Masjid

Sambhal: The construction of Satyavrat police post being built in front of Sambhal’s Jama Masjid is in its final stage. Now only the decoration work is left, which is being done rapidly. This police post is going to be very special in itself. The white marble of Rajasthan at its entrance has the shape of the chariot of Mahabharata engraved on it, in which Arjun was riding and whose charioteer was Lord Krishna himself.

Along with this chariot, the seventh verse of the fourth chapter of Shrimad Bhagwat Gita is also inscribed, which was narrated by Lord Krishna to Arjun while giving him the knowledge of the war between Dharma and Adharma. This verse is, ‘Yada yada hi dharmasya glanirbhavati Bharat. Abhyutthanamadharmasya tadatmanam srijamyham. Paritranaay sadhunaam vinashaya cha dushkritam. The Hindi translation of this shloka is, ‘Whenever there is decline in Dharma and increase in Adharma, only then I create my form, that is, I appear in front of people in a physical form. I appear in every era to save the virtuous, to destroy the sinners and to establish Dharma.’

The picture of Lord Krishna giving the message of Gita to Arjun in the battlefield of Kurukshetra during the Mahabharata war is also depicted on the wall of Satyavrat Police Chowki. It is said that in Satyayug, the name of Sambhal was Satyavrat Nagar and on that basis Satyavrat Police Chowki is being constructed. This attractive figure made at the entrance of the police post has been prepared by the artisans of Rajasthan. Washable and animated colors have been used in it, which will neither fade due to sunlight nor get spoiled by water.

The inauguration of this police post can be done on Ramnavami. ASP Shrish Chandra inspected the police post on April 3 and directed to complete the remaining work expeditiously. The police control room of Sambhal district will be built in Satyavrat police post. The decision to build Satyavrat post was taken after the violence that took place during the survey of Jama Masjid on November 24 last year in Sambhal. Several rooms have been built in this two-storey police post, so that there is ample accommodation for the jawans here. The building is being made well-equipped and hi-tech. After the Sambhal violence, a total of 40 police posts and checkposts are being constructed in the district.
