New Delhi: A major accident took place on Wednesday in the ongoing Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj when a huge crowd of devotees reached for bathing on the occasion of Mauni Amavasya. Late night there was a stampede at Sangam Nose and more than 10 people died. Many people are reported to be injured. In such a situation, the question arises that what is Sangam Nose, where a huge crowd is being seen. What is its significance.

Actually, the name Sangam Nose is due to the shape of this place. This Sangam Nose is considered to be the most important place for bathing in Prayagraj. It is said that this is where Yamuna and the mythical river Saraswati meet the Ganges. Most of the saints and sages take bath at this place. Devotees also give the most importance to bathing at this place.

The area of Sangam Nose is also increased every time. In comparison to 2019, this time the area of Sangam Nose was increased in view of the crowd. According to the information, earlier such arrangements were made here that 50 thousand people could take bath here every hour. But this time in Mahakumbh, preparations have been made for 2 lakh people to take bath every hour.

The initial information that came out said that a large number of people were trying to reach Sangam Nose. Due to which the situation went out of control and there was a stampede. But the administration then opened many roads and diverted the crowd. Due to which the situation has come under control.

Many saints including CM Yogi stopped people from going to Sangam Nose

After the stampede, many saints including UP CM Yogi Adityanath have also appealed to the devotees to avoid going to Sangam Nose and take bath at the ghat near which they are present. Actually, many ghats have been built for bathing in the fair area. But more crowd is seen only at Sangam Zone. In such a situation, now in view of the crowd of Mauni Amavasya, people have been asked to take bath at other ghats.

What did CM Yogi say

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has appealed to the devotees. CM Yogi has said that whoever is near the ghat of Maa Ganga, should bathe there only, do not try to go towards Sangam Nose. Many bathing ghats have been built for bathing. One can bathe anywhere. Follow the instructions of the administration. Cooperate in making arrangements. Do not pay attention to any rumours.
