‘We will get you statehood as soon as our government is formed in Jammu and Kashmir’, said Rahul Gandhi in election rally

New Delhi: Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha and Congress MP Rahul Gandhi addressed an election rally in Jammu. During this, he talked about issues like the state status of Jammu and Kashmir, tax and GST. Rahul Gandhi said, “In the history of India, many UTs were made states, but for the first time a state has been made a Union Territory, this has happened with Jammu and Kashmir. Doing this is injustice to the people of Jammu and Kashmir, your democratic rights have been taken away from you.”

‘As soon as our government is formed…’
Rahul further said that we thought that you would get statehood back before the elections. That was the right way, but now we want you to get your democratic rights as soon as possible. This has never happened before in the history of India, this should not happen to anyone. As soon as our government is formed in Jammu and Kashmir, we will get you statehood.

Rahul Gandhi said, “Jammu is the central hub here, which connects Kashmir’s business and production to the whole country, but the BJP government has ended the role of this central hub and broken the backbone of the MSMEs and entrepreneurs here. Till the time the MSMEs of Jammu and Kashmir do not stand on their own feet, employment will not be generated here.”

‘GST is a weapon to attack small industries’
Rahul Gandhi further said that today the government of the country runs for billionaires like Adani and Ambani. GST is a weapon, with which small and medium industries of Jammu and Kashmir were attacked. The truth is that demonetization and wrong GST destroyed lakhs of businesses of India.
