Victim’s picture will have to be removed from social media- Supreme Court’s

New Delhi: The Supreme Court has given a big order in the case of rape and murder of a doctor in Kolkata. Hearing the petition, the court has ordered to remove all the pictures of the victim from social media. The petitioner said that according to the order of the Supreme Court, the identity of the rape victim cannot be made public. Despite that, the victim’s picture is on the social media platform. After which the CJI has ordered to remove it.

In the petition filed in the Supreme Court, it was said that the reputation of the family is being affected by revealing the picture of the doctor and the identity of his family. In the petition, along with the big social media platforms, many ministries of the central government were also made parties. Earlier, the Kolkatta High Court had appealed to the people not to reveal the identity of the victim and asked to avoid sharing the photo on social media.

Earlier, the Supreme Court took cognizance of the Kolkata scandal case itself and heard it today. The court raised questions on many aspects related to the incident. The Supreme Court has sought a status report from the CBI, which is investigating the incident, by August 22. Along with this, it also ordered the formation of a National Task Force for the safety of doctors in hospitals.

In today’s hearing, the Supreme Court said that it seems that the crime was detected early in the morning, but the Principal of the medical college tried to call it a suicide. Along with this, the court said that when the conduct of the Principal of RG Kar Medical College and Hospital is under investigation, then how was he immediately appointed to another college.
