Lucknow. A fire broke out late at night in Lokbandhu Hospital in Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh (UP). Due to which people have come in panic. The fire broke out in the female ward and ICU on the second floor of the hospital. Due to which smoke spread all over the floor. But with the promptness of the fire brigade, the agility of the hospital staff and the management of the administrative officers, 200 patients were immediately evacuated and shifted to another hospital. Videos of the fire in the hospital have also surfaced, by watching which you can yourself guess how the lives of the patients were saved.
CFO of Lucknow Fire Brigade Mangesh Kumar said that we received the information at 9:44 pm and as soon as the information was received, our entire team reached the spot. When the team reached here, it was seen that many people were running away due to the panic of the fire. While some people were peeping from the windows of the hospital and trying to jump. Apart from this, some were also running from the stairs.
After reaching the spot, when our team saw that the situation here is serious and if people jump from the windows, they can lose their lives. In such a situation, the team got divided into several parts. After this, the team took out some people from the stairs and some people with the help of rope. Meanwhile, the rest of the team worked to extinguish the fire. The team extinguished the fire in just 30 minutes.
District Magistrate Visakh G Iyer said, “As soon as we received information about the fire at Lokbandhu Hospital, we sent a team of the fire and rescue department. They started the rescue operation. The fire affected the ICU, a women’s ward and another ward. All the patients from these wards have been rescued. They have been referred to 3 hospitals… The situation is under control now…”
Patients rescued one by one
After the fire broke out, patients were rescued one by one with the help of the fire brigade team, policemen and hospital staff. In the video, it can be seen that patients are also being evacuated through ventilators. After this, they were immediately rushed to the hospital by ambulance.
