Trump wreaks havoc on four countries, 530,000 people lost their legal status, know which countries…

  • March 22, 2025

Washington. The Donald Trump administration announced on Friday that it would revoke the legal protection of Cubans, Haiti, Nicaragua and Venezuelans in the United States. The effect of this decision will be that possibly 530,000 people may have to leave the US within about a month.

US President Donald Trump is continuously intensifying his action against illegal immigrants. Immigrants from these four countries came to the United States in October 2022 with a financial sponsor. They were given a two-year permit to live and work in the US. Now the Department of Homeland Security has announced that such people will lose their legal status 30 days after the notice is published in the Federal Register on April 24.

Parole was given for two years
This move is believed to have a wide impact. During the tenure of former President Joe Biden, these immigrants were given a parole of two years, which has now effectively ended. Citizens of all four countries were allowed to enter the US by air with an American sponsor.

Trump administration decided to end parole
The humanitarian parole system is a long-standing legal system, which has been used by presidents to allow people from countries where there is war or political instability. In such a situation, these people can enter the US and stay temporarily. The Trump administration has decided to end it, alleging widespread abuse in this system.

According to the news agency, the Department of Homeland Security said that people who came on parole without a valid basis to stay in the US, i.e., people who came on parole without a valid basis to stay in the US, should leave the US before their parole expiration date.

The Trump administration’s decision to cancel the legal status of five lakh immigrants may lead to deportation for many people. However, it is not clear how many people who entered the US under the parole program have since acquired options for protection or legal status.

    What decision did Biden take?
In 2022, then-President Joe Biden launched a parole entry program for Venezuelans. It was later expanded in 2023 and included people from Cuba, Haiti and Nicaragua. Diplomatic and political relations between the United States and these four countries remain tense.

Meanwhile, Donald Trump has intensified action against illegal immigrants after assuming the presidency in the US. So far a record number of illegal immigrants have been expelled. The Trump administration argued that the previous Biden government started the parole program, which exceeded legal limits. He has issued an executive order against it on January 20.
