Bhopal. In the famous Pench National Park located in Seoni district of Madhya Pradesh, during the safari on Wednesday morning, tigress Lakshmi was seen strolling with three cubs. Tourists were thrilled to see this. Pench Tiger Reserve is known by the name of the main character of The Jungle Book, Mowgli. A large number of tourists from the country and abroad come here to do jungle safari.
Many wild animals including tigers can be seen here. At the same time, when the tourists were doing jungle safari, tigress Lakshmi was seen strolling with cubs from the bushes. Tourists captured this scene on camera. The little cubs are one to two months old. They were seen with the tigress for the first time after coming out of the den.
Deputy Director of Pench Park Rajneesh Kumar Singh said that the newly born cubs of the tigress are visible in the videos made by the tourists. Their age will be 1 to 2 months.
Let us tell you that Pench Tiger Reserve is considered to be the home of the wolf boy ‘Mowgli’, the main character of Rudyard Kipling’s ‘The Jungle Book’. The name of Mowgli and his wildlife friends is on the lips of people of all ages. People from all over the country and the world reach Pench National Park with the desire to see ‘Mowgli’s’ home. The 1179 sq km area of Pench Tiger Reserve is spread between the Pench river in Seoni and Chhindwara districts. Its 411 sq km area is a protected area (core area).
According to the census, 123 tigers live in Pench and the adjoining forest. In the year 2006, their number was reduced to only 35. The result of awareness spread on tiger conservation, better management and security is that the number of tigers is continuously increasing. 1010 species of trees, plants, vegetation and grass are found in the forest. The river flowing in the middle of the forest divides Pench Park into two parts. 50 species of fish are found in the river. While 325 species of birds, 57 of mammals, 37 of reptiles, 100 of butterflies and 13 species of amphibians are found in the forest.
