There is a possibility of terrorist attack in Mumbai during the festival season, intelligence agencies warned

Mumbai. Security has been beefed up in India’s financial capital Mumbai. Intelligence agencies have expressed apprehension of an attack during the festival season. In view of this potential threat, the city’s security system is being tightened. Security checks are being done on a large scale at important places. On the inputs from intelligence agencies, mock drills are being conducted at crowded places and religious places in the city and all regional officials have been asked to take special care in their areas.

Special surveillance is being kept at airports, railway stations, malls and other public places. Security forces have intensified the investigation of these places. Advanced technology is also being used to make the security system more efficient.

Mumbai Police said in a statement, “We have been instructed to conduct ‘mock drills’ at crowded places and religious places. All DCPs have been asked to pay special attention to security arrangements in their respective areas.”

Crime Branch, ATC (Anti Terrorist Cell) and local police are facing this challenge together. They have taken strict security measures in sensitive areas and suspicious activities are being closely monitored.
