‘Tejashwi is the CM face…’, RJD draws a line in front of Congress even before Patna meeting

Patna: Political activities have increased regarding Bihar elections. Leader of Opposition in Bihar Assembly Tejashwi Yadav reached Delhi two days ago and met Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi. After Delhi, now there is a round of meetings in Patna. A meeting of the leaders of the opposition grand alliance is to be held in Patna today in which issues like seat sharing and chief ministerial candidate are to be discussed. Before this meeting, the Rashtriya Janata Dal has claimed the name of Tejashwi Yadav for the post of Chief Minister.

RJD spokesperson Mrityunjay Tiwari said before the meeting of the grand alliance that the elections are near and we are busy making further strategy by sitting with our constituent parties. He said that earlier a meeting of top leaders was held in Delhi and today from 2 o’clock, the leaders of the constituent parties will sit together and discuss the elections in the RJD state office. Mrityunjay Tiwari clearly said that Tejashwi Yadav was the CM candidate in 2020 and he is the face for the post of Chief Minister in 2025 as well.

Taking a dig at the ruling National Democratic Alliance, he said that JDU has to put up posters claiming Nitish Kumar’s leadership. The RJD spokesperson claimed that the people of Bihar are saying – 2025, Nitish finish. Earlier, Mukesh Sahni, the chief of Vikassheel Insaan Party (VIP), which is part of the Grand Alliance, had also called for making Tejashwi the CM in a rally in Nalanda, calling him the younger brother. He had said that if we have two to three dozen MLAs, our government will be formed. Younger brother Tejashwi Yadav will become the CM and I will be the Deputy CM.

Eyes will be on the stand of Congress
RJD has put forward the name of Tejashwi Yadav for CM. VIP chief Mukesh Sahni has also expressed his consent on the name of Tejashwi. In such a situation, now eyes will be on the stand of Congress. Congress General Secretary Sachin Pilot, who reached Patna recently, had said on a question regarding the CM face that the leaders of all the parties will sit together and decide this after the elections. Since then, speculations started about different tones in the Mahagathbandhan regarding the CM face and Congress’ disagreement on Tejashwi’s leadership.

It was only after this statement of Sachin Pilot that Tejashwi Yadav reached Delhi. After meeting Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi, Tejashwi Yadav had talked about a good discussion. On the question regarding the CM face, Tejashwi Yadav had said that the leaders of the parties of the Mahagathbandhan will sit together and take a decision. We will sit and decide whether to do it before the elections or after the elections. Tejashwi Yadav has returned to Patna after meeting the Congress leadership in Delhi.

Meeting will be held at RJD office
The meeting of the Mahagathbandhan regarding Bihar elections is to be held at the state office of RJD. This is the first meeting of the constituent parties of the Mahagathbandhan before the Bihar elections. Along with Tejashwi Yadav, RJD’s Rajya Sabha MPs Manoj Jha and Sanjay Yadav, Congress’s state in-charge Krishna Allavaru, Bihar Congress President Rajesh Ram and Legislative Party leader Shakeel Ahmed Khan will attend this meeting. Talking about the left parties, CPI (ML) National General Secretary Dipankar Bhattacharya, CPI state secretary Ramnaresh Pandey and two leaders from CPI (M) will also attend. VIP will be represented by Mukesh Sahni. Discussion on the unity of the alliance and election strategy is being said to be the agenda of this meeting.
