Murshidabad: Security forces have been deployed in the area after the violence in Murshidabad, West Bengal. 9 BSF and 8 CRPF companies are currently present in the violence affected areas. BSF ADG Ravi Gandhi will be on a two-day visit to Malda and Murshidabad from today. He will reach the area today and visit the violence affected areas Suti, Samserganj, Jangipur. On Sunday, there was a possibility of a dispute between the BSF and the accused escalating, but due to the retaliatory action of the security forces, the matter did not progress much.
3 people died in Murshidabad violence
Recently, violence broke out during a protest against the Waqf Act in Murshidabad, West Bengal. During this, reports of stone pelting and arson came in many areas. So far 3 have died in the violence and many policemen have been injured. Police has arrested more than 150 people while taking action against the accused. BSF jawans have been deployed along with the police to restore peace in the area.
Violence had earlier erupted in Suti
The marks of the violence that took place in Murshidabad on Friday were not yet gone, then violence erupted again. In this violence, two people of the area, who were father and son, were killed. Violence started on Friday in Suti of Murshidabad. After Friday prayers, thousands of people took to the streets against the Waqf law and blocked NH-34. When the police tried to remove the blockade from the National Highway, there was a clash between the police and the mob.
