New Delhi. Indian space agency ISRO has joined hands with America’s leading industrialist Elon Musk’s company SpaceX. In fact, ISRO’s most modern communication satellite GSAT-20, which is also being called GSAT N-2, will be launched into space by SpaceX. This launch will take place early next week.
Why is it not being launched by Indian rocket?
GSAT N-2 will be launched from Cape Carnival in America. This 4700 kg satellite is too heavy to be carried by any Indian rocket. This is the reason why ISRO decided to take the help of Elon Musk’s company SpaceX for its launch. The most powerful rocket of the Indian Space Agency is Mark-3, which can carry only 4000-4100 kg of weight in the geostationary orbit of the Earth.
Till now India was dependent on Arianespace company to launch its heavy satellites, but at present none of the company’s rockets are in operation. India does not launch its satellites using Chinese rockets and due to the Ukraine war, Russia is also not in a position to launch its rockets commercially. This is the reason why ISRO had the option of SpaceX only. ISRO scientists say that they have got a good deal to send their satellite from SpaceX. SpaceX will send the Indian satellite into space with its powerful rocket Falcon 9.
Elon Musk’s interest in India is increasing
The GSAT N-2 satellite prepared by ISRO will work for 14 years. This is a commercial launch. With the help of this satellite, the network in India will improve and internet connectivity will be available even during air service. It is estimated that 6-7 crore dollars will be spent on this commercial launch of Falcon 9 rocket in the launch of GSAT N-2. Along with this, Elon Musk is demanding a license for satellite-based internet services Starlink. It is clear from this that Elon Musk’s interest in India is increasing. Musk has now emerged very powerful in the Trump government and is playing an important role in the Trump government.
