Kept silence for 12 years
Saint Siyaram Baba built his ashram on the banks of Narmada. He was more than 100 years old. Baba also kept silence for twelve years. If a devotee came to meet him in the ashram and wanted to donate more, he would refuse. He would only take a ten rupee note. He used to use that money also in the works related to the ashram. Baba did penance under a tree on the banks of the Narmada river and completed his sadhana by staying silent for twelve years. After breaking his vow of silence, the first word he uttered was Siya Ram Baba and the devotees started calling him by that name. Thousands of devotees visit his ashram every month.
