Shankaracharya Avimukteshwaranand raised questions on Dheerendra Shastri’s padayatra, said- If caste ends, then Sanatan identity will be lost

He has claimed that Baba Bageshwar is working as an agent of political parties. If caste is bid farewell, our (Sanatan’s) identity will also end, then how will anyone remain a Sanatani?

On Baba Bageshwar’s Sanatan Hindu Ekta Yatra, Shankaracharya Avimukteshwaranand told news agency ANI, “He is doing Sanatan Yatra, raising slogans that bid farewell to caste, Hindu-Hindu are brothers. He is saying that if you divide, you will be cut, that is, do not divide on the basis of caste. Other parties are doing caste politics, so he is saying that stay Hindu, so that we get votes. When you are divided on the basis of caste, we get the votes of some Hindus, while the rest of the votes go to the other party. Now to make this point clear, Baba Bageshwar has come out on the streets. He is working as an agent of political power.

He further said, “Caste is the identity of Hindus. As soon as someone asks who you are, you will reply that you are a Hindu. After this, which community do you belong to? Brahmin or Kshatriya. This is where the matter begins. When you say that you are a Hindu, they will ask which Hindu. Will anyone believe you? If you have gone to get your sister married and ask which community you belong to, he will say that you are a Hindu, will you be able to marry? You will not be able to. We have the idea of ​​Varnashram.”

Shankaracharya said that the movement should be done so that we will not degrade anyone, we will not hate anyone, but if we do away with caste, our identity will be destroyed, then how will we be able to remain Sanatani? As soon as they say that do away with caste, Sanatan will be destroyed. They have been brought down to fulfill a political agenda, Sanatan Dharma has nothing to do with this.
