New Delhi. Leader of Opposition in the Indian Parliament (MP) Rahul Gandhi has reached Boston, America. Here he had a session with students at Brown University. Congress MP Rahul Gandhi raised the issue of Maharashtra elections and said that there is a ‘serious problem’ in the election system of the country.
He said, “In simple words, the number of youth voting in Maharashtra in the assembly elections is more than the number of voters. This is a fact. The Election Commission gave us the voting data till 5:30 pm and between 5:30 pm and 7:30 pm, when the voting should have stopped, 65 lakh voters voted. Now, this is physically impossible, isn’t it? Because it takes about 3 minutes for a voter to vote and if you calculate, it would mean that there were queues of voters till 2 am and they kept voting throughout the night, and this did not happen.”
‘The law has changed…’
Rahul Gandhi further said, “So we asked them if videography is happening. They not only refused videography, but they changed the law, so now you cannot ask for videography.”
Rahul further said, “It was very clear to us that the Election Commission has been compromised. It is very clear that there is something very wrong with the system. We have said this publicly, I have said it many times.”
