New Delhi. Congress on Saturday accused the Jammu and Kashmir administration of not helping Priyanka Gandhi’s helicopter to land in Billawar constituency of Kathua district and trying to disrupt her campaign. Actually, Priyanka Gandhi was to address rallies in Billawar and Bishnah constituencies of Jammu region, but her helicopter could not land there. Due to this she was unable to seek support for the party candidate and former minister Dr. Manohar Lal.
Rahul Gandhi also could not rally
On the other hand, opposition leader Rahul Gandhi was also scheduled to address rallies in Chamb and Ramgarh constituencies, but on Friday his helicopter had a technical problem. Jammu and Kashmir Congress Committee (JKPCC) chief spokesperson Ravinder Sharma told reporters, ‘We demand an explanation from the administration regarding this. Priyanka Gandhi’s Billawar rally has been shamefully disrupted by the administration.’ He demanded an inquiry into the incident and also urged the Election Commission to investigate the matter.
Priyanka targeted BJP
While addressing the rally in Bishnah, Priyanka Gandhi targeted the BJP. She said that in the last 10 years, the BJP has pushed the region into crisis. Priyanka Gandhi said that the Congress will restore the dignity and honor of Kashmiris. She promised to restore statehood to Jammu and Kashmir and restart the 150-year-old ‘Darbar Move’ practice.
Priyanka said, ‘I am saddened to see that the BJP used Jammu and Kashmir as a political tool for its own benefit and incited sentiments in other parts of the country. The BJP government took away your statehood, land and job rights.’
Also made allegations against LG Manoj Sinha
Priyanka Gandhi also made serious allegations against Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha during this time. He said, ‘The Lieutenant Governor is ruling like a dictator, looting Jammu and Kashmir without any accountability and helping big corporate houses. People from outside are exploiting the resources here, and your youth are struggling to get employment.’
