The Maha Kumbh Mela has started from today in Prayagraj, UP. In this historic event, crores of devotees from the country and abroad have reached the confluence of Ganga, Yamuna and Kalpit Saraswati with their faith. This time more than 40 crore devotees are expected to attend the Maha Kumbh. The first royal bath is today, even before this, devotees have started gathering at Sangam.
To make this event special, there will be a shower of roses on the devotees in the Maha Kumbh Mela area. The garden department has completed preparations to shower rose petals on the devotees of the entire 4000 hectare fair area in the Sangam area through helicopters. Kumbh Mela’s garden in-charge VK Singh said that all preparations have been made for the shower of rose petals on the main bathing festival. About 20 quintals of rose petals are to be showered on each bathing festival.

Helicopter rides have been arranged to attract tourists during the Maha Kumbh. Its fare has been reduced from Rs 3,000 to just Rs 1,296 per person. Uttar Pradesh Tourism and Culture Minister Jaiveer Singh gave this information in an official statement. This 7-8 minute helicopter ride will start from today, in which tourists will be able to take an aerial view of the grandeur of the Maha Kumbh Mela from above the city of Prayagraj.
How to book tickets
According to the statement of the Tourism Department, the helicopter ride of Maha Kumbh can be enjoyed for just Rs 1,296 per person, the facility to book this ride online is available on www.upstdc.co.in and it will be operated by Pawan Hans, an undertaking of the Government of India. Helicopter rides will be operated continuously according to the weather conditions. Along with this, the Uttar Pradesh Tourism and Culture Department has also made arrangements for water and adventure sports at the site of the fair. Drone shows, water laser shows and other recreational activities will be organized during the fair from January 24 to 26.
Famous artists from all over the country will perform in Kumbh
Famous artists from all over the country will give their performances in this fair which will run for 40 days. Along with this, a special event of UP Day will also be organized. On January 16, famous singer Shankar Mahadevan will perform at the Ganga Pandal. On February 24, at the closing ceremony of the fair, famous singer Mohit Chauhan will perform. This step of the tourism department is an effort to further increase the popularity of the Kumbh Mela among tourists.
