PM Modi returned from Saudi tour, Doval-Jaishankar gave briefing on Pahalgam attack at the airport itself

Delhi. After the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has returned to Delhi on Wednesday morning, ending his Saudi Arabia tour midway. NSA Ajit Doval, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar and Foreign Secretary briefed him on the Pahalgam attack at the Delhi airport itself. Now in a short while, Prime Minister Modi will chair the meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Security Affairs (CCS).

Earlier, PM Modi had assessed the situation in Kashmir from Saudi on Tuesday. There was also a discussion between PM Modi and Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman about the attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. Mohammad bin Salman condemned the terrorist attack. During this, the leaders of both the countries co-chaired the Strategic Partnership Council, which aims to further strengthen the friendship between the two countries.

PM Modi, who arrived in Jeddah on a two-day visit on Tuesday, delayed his scheduled meeting with the Crown Prince to assess the situation in Kashmir by about two hours. Terrorists killed 26 people, mostly tourists, in Pahalgam. The attack is the deadliest attack in the valley after the Pulwama attack in 2019.

PM Modi did not attend dinner
According to sources, PM Modi held bilateral talks with the Saudi Crown Prince but did not attend the official dinner and decided to cut short his visit and return home on Tuesday night.

The Prime Minister had gone to Saudi for a two-day visit. The Prime Minister will attend the Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) meeting on Wednesday. Union Home Minister Amit Shah held a high-level meeting in Srinagar. Terrorists targeted a group of tourists, in which about 26 people are feared dead.
