PM Modi on Chhattisgarh tour today, will give a gift of Rs 33,700 crore, will lay the foundation stone of power project Sipat-3

Raipur. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lay the foundation stone of NTPC’s 800 MW super thermal power project Sipat-3 in Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh today. After its launch, the total capacity of Sipat Super Thermal Power Station will increase to 3,780 MW. The total cost of this project will be Rs 9,791 crore.

This will be able to meet the increasing electricity demand in the states of Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra and Goa. The state-of-the-art ultra supercritical technology used in Sipat Phase-3 will increase fuel efficiency and reduce carbon emissions. NTPC said that along with technological upliftment, public welfare, sustainable development and environmental protection initiatives will also be taken care of in the NTPC Sipat-3 project. This plant will follow all environmental norms.

Foundation stone of seven railway projects
The Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone of seven railway projects with a total length of 108 km to enhance better connectivity in Chhattisgarh. He will dedicate three railway projects with a total length of 111 km costing more than Rs 2,690 crore to the nation. He will flag off the MEMU train service in the Abhanpur-Raipur section through Mandir Hasaud.

100 percent electrification of rail network in Chhattisgarh
PM Modi will also dedicate to the nation 100 percent electrification of Indian Railways’ rail network in Chhattisgarh. These projects will reduce congestion, improve connectivity and promote social and economic development in the entire region.

National Highways will be upgraded
Enhancing the road infrastructure in Chhattisgarh, the Prime Minister will dedicate to the nation the upgrade of Jhalamla to Sherpar section of NH-930 (37 km) and Ambikapur-Pathalgaon section of NH-43 (75 km) to 2 lanes. The Prime Minister will also lay the foundation stone for upgrading the Kondagaon-Narayanpur section of NH-130D (47.5 km) to 2 lanes. These projects costing over Rs 1,270 crore will significantly improve access to tribal and industrial areas leading to overall development of the region.

130 schools to be upgraded under PM School for Rising India
To ensure education for all, the Prime Minister will dedicate two major educational initiatives which include 130 PM Shrischools in 29 districts of the state and Vidya Samiksha Kendra (VSK) in Raipur. 130 schools will be upgraded under the PM School for Rising India scheme. These schools will help in providing high quality education through well-structured infrastructure, smart boards, modern laboratories and libraries. VSK in Raipur will enable online monitoring and data analysis of various education related government schemes.

Will hand over house keys to 3 lakh beneficiaries
To improve proper housing, health, security and overall quality of life of the rural population, 3 lakh beneficiaries will be given Grihapravesh under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana – Gramin (PMAY-G). The Prime Minister will hand over the keys to some beneficiaries under this scheme.
