Paris: Macron gives a warm welcome to PM Modi at Elysee Palace, will participate in AI Action Summit

The Paris Summit to Strengthen Artificial Intelligence (AI) Governance aims to focus on the global governance model, so that AI can be made more inclusive while ensuring safe and transparent AI for users around the world. It also focuses on promoting joint research and development of AI.

This summit is taking place at a time when Chinese startup DeepSeek has unveiled its low-cost and accurate AI product, which is giving tough competition to its American counterpart Open AI’s ChatGPT. After reaching Paris, PM Modi was welcomed by France’s Armed Forces Minister Sebastian Lecorn.

A diplomatic source said that India co-chairing the AI ​​summit also signals to China that it is also an important stakeholder in shaping the rules of the game in terms of democratization of AI, among other initiatives. President Macron will also host Prime Minister Modi along with the CEOs of technology companies at the Elysee Palace in the evening.

Will address India-France CEO Forum
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will co-chair the AI ​​summit with French President Emmanuel Macron and also hold bilateral talks during his visit to France from February 10 to February 12. After this, he will also address the India-France CEO Forum. After his address, Prime Minister Modi will visit the Majargues War Cemetery in Marseille and pay tribute to the Indian soldiers martyred in the First World War. Both leaders will also inaugurate India’s new consulate in Marseille.

PM will go to America after France
Before leaving for Paris, PM Modi said that after completing his visit to France, he will visit America on the invitation of President Donald Trump. He said, ‘This visit is especially important because this will be our first meeting during President Trump’s new term. However, our previous cooperation has set many milestones. I have fond memories of creating the India-US Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership during his first term.’
