Pakistan sealed due to SCO meeting, marriages will not take place for five days

Islamabad. The Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) meeting is being held in Pakistan this year. Pakistan’s security agencies are so scared of this meeting that they have stopped all activities in major cities like Islamabad and Rawalpindi for five days. According to reports, there will be strict security arrangements in Islamabad and Rawalpindi from October 12 to October 16 and during this time all restaurants, wedding halls, cafes and snooker clubs will remain completely closed.

Guarantee bonds were filled by all shop-establishment owners
Not only this, police officers of various areas in both the cities will make all the establishment owners fill a guarantee bond that their establishments will remain closed for five days. Police officers have issued summons to all the establishment owners and directed them to fill the security bond, if this bond is violated and any establishment is found open, strict action will be taken against it. According to the instructions, the suspects in Adiala Jail will not be produced in court for five days during the SCO meeting and the court proceedings will start only after October 16. For additional security, commandos and sniper shooters will be deployed on the roofs of multi-storey buildings across the city.

Pigeon and kite flying also banned
According to Pakistani media reports, pigeon and kite flying has also been banned within a radius of three kilometers around the Noor Khan Chaklala Airbase. A campaign is also being run to remove pigeon nets on the roofs of houses and plazas. Due to the SCO meeting, the Pakistan government has declared a three-day public holiday in Rawalpindi and Islamabad from October 14-16. During this time all educational institutions and government offices will remain closed in both the cities.

SCO meeting will be held in Pakistan
It is worth mentioning that the SCO summit chaired by Pakistan will be held in Islamabad on October 16 and 17, in which various heads of state including Chinese Prime Minister Li Qiang will participate. The SCO summit was formed in 2001, with China, Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan as members. It is an important forum of the Eurasian political, economic and security alliance. After this, the organization has expanded and India, Pakistan and Iran joined it as full members, while Afghanistan, Belarus and Mongolia have observer country status. Indian Foreign Minister S Jaishankar will also visit Pakistan for the SCO summit. This will be the first visit of an Indian Foreign Minister to Pakistan in almost nine years, before this Sushma Swaraj visited Pakistan in December 2015.
