Ujjain. A team of Mumbai Police reached Madhya Pradesh on Sunday in search of an accused allegedly involved in the murder of NCP leader and former Maharashtra minister Baba Siddiqui. An official said that a team of Mumbai Police along with Madhya Pradesh Police has reached Ujjain in search of an accused. The accused is said to be a resident of Bahraich in UP. The crime branch team is searching for this suspect along with the local police. The investigation team suspects that the suspected accused may be hiding in MP.
The official said that the suspected accused is being searched in Ujjain district and Omkareshwar (in Khandwa district). The investigation team suspects the involvement of more shooters in this murder. According to official sources, it seems that the suspected accused is constantly changing his hideout. An official source said that the investigation has revealed that a suspect related to the incident had recently come to Ujjain.
The investigation team suspects that the accused, a resident of Bahraich, may be hiding in Madhya Pradesh. A crime branch official told reporters in Mumbai that 15 teams have been formed to investigate this murder. These teams have been sent out of Maharashtra. Efforts are being made to find out who helped the shooters. Two pistols and 28 cartridges have been recovered from the two accused arrested in this case.
Meanwhile, a Mumbai court on Sunday sent one of the two accused arrested in the former minister Baba Siddiqui murder case to police custody till October 21. The court also ordered a bone test of the second accused to find out his age. This accused has claimed to be a minor. The police say that they want to find out whether this murder was committed due to political rivalry. The politics of the state is heated over this murder. The opposition is raising questions on the law and order in the state.
