Sambhal: After the 46-year-old Shiva temple found closed in Sambhal, Uttar Pradesh, the process of digging has started to find places of religious importance. After the temple, digging work is going on in Bilari’s Rani ki Bawdi for the last five days. Meanwhile, an old well has been found near Sarathal Chowki. Local people say that this well was known as ‘Mrityu Koop’. It was believed that bathing in its water gives salvation.
This ancient well has been found near Sarathal Chowki in Sambhal, which is just 150 meters away from Shahi Jama Masjid. The Nagar Palika team has started digging this old ‘Mrityu Koop’ from Jama Masjid. People living nearby have claimed that this well is very ancient.
People have claimed that Mahamrityunjay Tirtha is also located near the ancient well. They say that people of other communities have been claiming ownership of the land of this pilgrimage. Local people told about the ancient importance of this well and said that it was believed that one gets salvation by bathing in the water of this well.
