MP: Two communities clashed over a platform in Burhanpur, tension increased after stone pelting, police force deployed

Burhanpur. In Burhanpur, Madhya Pradesh, on Monday, there was a clash between two communities over a platform-like religious place. Both Hindus and Muslims were staking their claim on this place located in Biroda village, for which the district administration had organized a reconciliation meeting between the two sides. During this meeting, the dispute suddenly escalated so much that it reached the stage of stone pelting. After the incident, there was chaos and stampede in the village. As soon as the information was received, a large number of police force of the district reached the spot and controlled the situation by dispersing the people. At present, top officials of police and administration have reached the spot and are keeping an eye and patrolling is being done in the village including the city.

The Muslim side claims that there was a dargah here on a platform located in the Gram Panchayat Biroda of Burhanpur district, while the Hindu community claims that it is the Samadhi of Navnath Baba. Here, people of Hindu society painted this platform and Samadhi with saffron colour, due to which the Muslim side of the village lodged a complaint with the administration in the last public hearing. On the basis of the same complaint, a conciliation meeting was held between the two parties in the village itself in the presence of the Naib Tehsildar on Monday. The meeting remained inconclusive and the dispute escalated.

During the meeting, stone pelting took place between the two parties. In this, four people from both the communities were injured, who were brought to the district hospital for treatment. A woman is also among the injured. At present, a heavy police force is deployed in the village. The people who created the dispute in the village are being identified. There is talk of strict action against the guilty people.

Burhanpur ASP Antar Singh Kanesh said that recently there was a dispute over the platform. Both the parties were repeatedly pleading that it should be resolved. Due to this, a conciliation meeting was held. The police force along with the Naib Tehsildar were trying to convince them. But during this time, both the parties clashed with each other. After this, some incidents of fighting took place, but the police force immediately reached the spot.
