Bhopal: Relief news is coming for school children in Madhya Pradesh. To give relief to the children, there is a preparation for big changes in government schools. For information, let us tell you that now Bagless Day will be celebrated in schools once a month. The School Education Department has decided to organize different activities for children on Bagless Day to ensure the overall development of children studying in classes 6 to 8 in the state. On this day, apart from studies, various cultural, literary and practical activities will be conducted among the children.
In this regard, the State Education Center has issued instructions to the District Education Officers and District Project Coordinators. In the National Education Policy-2020, it has been provided that children studying in school can get acquainted with the skills of the 21st century, for this, Bagless Day should be organized on at least one Saturday in every month for school children from class 6 to 8. On these days, students should be given information about practical skills. For Bagless-Day, the principal and teachers of the school have been asked to prepare a calendar of activities after discussion. The information about the activities has been asked to send “HD Geo taggy Photograph” to the email ID of State Education Center rsk.curriculum@gmail.com.
The objective of Bagless-Day is to prepare students as successful, innovative and responsible citizens. Along with this, scientific approach, evidence based thinking and creativity is to be developed in the students. The main thing is to develop dialogue, expression of ideas, health and nutrition, sports, spirit of cooperation and leadership qualities along with Indian knowledge tradition and environmental consciousness among the students. The State Education Center has also issued guidelines regarding the activities to be held in Bagless-Day. In art and craft, drawing, painting, making of clay toys, masks, doll-making and making of objects from useless materials are important among the children.
In literary and cultural activities, folk song-dance, short drama, poetry recitation, story writing activities should be done among the children. To make the children aware of modern methods of farming, they should be given information about poly-forming, organic farming, medicinal plants and modern equipment used in farming.
Along with this, site visits should also be organised. Children should be informed about historical sites, small scale industries, including bee-keeping, poultry and fish farming etc. Children should be taken on a tour of local bank, police station, hospital and grain market. Children should be taken on a tour of units like handloom and toy manufacturing. Along with this, sports activities should also be organised along with giving information about science, technology and environment to the children.
