MP: 6 people who went down to clean a well in Khandwa to save 2 people died due to poisonous gas

Khandwa. A tragic accident has happened in Khandwa district of Madhya Pradesh (MP). 8 people died while cleaning a well in Kondavat village. It is being told that 6 more people had gone down to save two people. The administration and rescue team have recovered the bodies of all. The deceased have been identified as Rakesh Patel, Anil Patel, Ajay Patel, Sharan Patel, Vasudev Patel, Arjun Patel, and Mohan Patel.

According to initial information, this accident happened due to poisonous gas, due to which all the people fell unconscious into the well and died. As soon as the information of the incident was received, the administration and rescue team reached the spot.

According to the report, on April 3 (Thursday), the people of Kondavat village had gone down to clean the well in preparation for Gangaur immersion. It is being told that this well was closed for a long time and it was not cleaned. Due to this, silt had accumulated in the well, due to which there is a possibility of poisonous gas formation.

According to the local people, eight people who went down the well for cleaning went down one by one, but all of them fainted due to the poisonous gas and drowned in the water. When no one came out for a long time, the villagers raised an alarm and informed the administration.

Seeing the seriousness of the incident, the police, administration and disaster emergency response team reached the spot. Rescue work was started with the help of ropes and nets. All the eight bodies have been taken out, there is mourning in the village after the accident and the family members are crying inconsolably.

CM announced compensation
CM Mohan Yadav has also expressed grief over this accident and has announced financial assistance of Rs 4 lakh each to the families of the deceased. He said, ‘Sad information has been received about the death of all eight people due to suffocation from poisonous gas in the well. I pray to Almighty God to give a place to all the virtuous souls in his feet and give strength to the family members to bear the grief.
