More than 50 medicines including Pantocid fail the test, government bans it

New Delhi: Central Drugs Standard Control Organization (CDSCO) has failed the quality test of 53 medicines. These include some medicines for BP, diabetes and vitamins. The medicines banned by CDSCO include pain reliever Diclofenac, antifungal medicine Fluconazole and some vitamin medicines. These medicines are manufactured by many big pharmaceutical companies of the country. These medicines have failed the quality test and have been declared dangerous for health.

CDSCO has failed the test of 53 medicines, although a list of 48 medicines has been released. This is because the company making 5 medicines says that these are not their medicines. Only fake medicines are being sold in the market in the name of their company. Pantocid tablet manufactured by Sun Pharma is also among the medicines that have been banned. This medicine is used for the treatment of acid reflux. Many people use this medicine and its consumption has also increased in the last few years, but this medicine has also not passed the test.

Calcium and Vitamin D tablets – Shelcal and Pulmosil injection, which are used for the treatment of high BP, have also failed the test. Alkem Health Science’s antibiotics Clavam 625 drug failed the test. However, some pharmaceutical companies have also claimed that the batches of medicines marked by CDSCO are fake and are not manufactured by them.

According to the order issued by the central government, there is a risk of danger to people from the use of glucoamylase, pectinase, amylase, protease, alpha galactosidase, cellulase, lipase, bromelain, xylanase, hemicellulase, lactase, beta-gluconase, malt diastase, invertase and papain. The medicines that have been banned also include antiparasitic medicines for hair treatment. A few days ago, the government had banned 156 fixed dose medicines. Those medicines were also said to be harmful for health.
