New Delhi: Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is presenting the country’s Budget 2025 in the Lok Sabha today. This budget focuses on youth and women. In this time’s budget, the government has tried to give relief to the people on the front of inflation and tax. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, while presenting the Budget 2025-26, has announced a cut in custom duty on many items, due to which the prices of some things are expected to come down. Especially the items related to electronics, medicines and electric vehicles will now become cheaper.

Medicines will become cheaper
The government has reduced the custom duty on medicines. This includes cancer medicines. Custom duty will be removed on 56 medicines for people suffering from cancer and serious diseases

Medicines for cancer and serious diseases will also become cheaper
The government has announced complete exemption of basic custom duty on 36 life saving medicines. This will benefit those patients who buy medicines for cancer and other serious diseases.

Electronic goods cheaper!

The Finance Minister has talked about reducing the custom duty on electronic goods to 5%. Especially the basic custom duty has been reduced on the open cell and other components of TV and mobile phones, due to which their prices may come down.

These items will also be cheaper
The government has also announced exemption from basic customs duty on cobalt powder, lithium-ion battery scrap, lead, zinc and other 12 minerals. This will reduce the prices of battery and mineral base products.

Removed on leather goods
The government has removed the basic customs duty on blue leather in the budget. This will make purses and leather products cheaper.

Fish paste
The basic customs duty on frozen fish paste has been reduced from 30 percent to 5 percent. This will apply to manufactured and exported products.

There will be no impact on the prices of gold and silver
In the 2024 budget, it was proposed to reduce the customs duty on gold and silver by 6%. However, no change has been made in this budget. In such a situation, there will be no change in the price of gold and silver.
