Maharashtra CM: Can Shinde’s son be made deputy CM? He himself will approach the centre, what about Ajit

Mumbai. After the great victory of Mahayuti in Maharashtra, now the BJP leadership is having to work hard to take a decision with the allies regarding the new Chief Minister. Shiv Sena has started putting pressure to retain the current Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. At the same time, NCP has indirectly supported BJP leader and outgoing Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis for this post. It is likely that the BJP leadership will take a decision on the post of Chief Minister after discussing with the leaders of all the constituent parties in the next one or two days.

BJP has emerged as the largest party in the Mahayuti and the number of its MLAs is much more than the total MLAs of both the alliance parties. In such a situation, BJP has a natural claim on the post of Chief Minister, but Shiv Sena is in favor of retaining the current Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. In such a situation, it is necessary for BJP to get the consent of the leaders of all the constituent parties to take a decision. BJP also has to look at the future social and political equations in taking a decision.

When BJP formed a coalition government after Shiv Sena’s split in the previous assembly in Maharashtra, it had to make Eknath Shinde the Chief Minister due to compulsion and the current situation. Former Chief Minister Fadnavis was persuaded to become the Deputy Chief Minister for the stability of the government. Later, when Ajit Pawar broke away from NCP and joined the government, he was also made the Deputy Chief Minister. But, the situation has changed after the recent assembly elections. BJP has won more than 130 seats on its own, while the majority figure is 145. Here, Shiv Sena and NCP have also made the alliance very strong by winning more seats than their capacity.

Shinde’s claim is strong due to being a Maratha
Even after such a big victory, the BJP leadership is not taking a hasty decision keeping in mind the future equations. Because Shinde comes from the Maratha community, the claim of Maratha leadership is very strong in the Maratha reservation movement and other circumstances. At the same time, Fadnavis is a Brahmin. There is also a thought of OBC leadership in BJP. Apart from this, BJP is also keeping in mind the upcoming BMC elections. It does not want to take any such decision, which may cause a setback in Mumbai after this big victory.

Different formulas also prepared
According to sources, prominent leaders of Maharashtra had reached Delhi on Monday night for the wedding of Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla’s daughter. They had a meeting with the central leadership of BJP. In this, there was brainstorming about the new Chief Minister. One of the formulas being discussed in BJP is that Shinde should be brought to the center and his son should be made Deputy Chief Minister and a person from the party should be made Chief Minister. There is also a discussion that Shinde should not be removed for now and changes should be made later.
