Mahakal temple administrator Ganesh Dhakad removed

Ujjain: There has been a major reshuffle in the Mahakaleshwar temple of Ujjain, the administrator of the temple committee has been removed from the post. However, it has not been decided who will be the new administrator of the temple committee. According to Ujjain collector Neeraj Singh, it remains to be seen whether the decision of the new administrator will be from Bhopal or local.

Ganesh Dhakad has served twice. On August 14, 2024, Ganesh Dhakad got the command of the administration of Mahakal Temple Committee for the second time. Prior to this, he was the temple administrator from 2021 to 2022. This big decision has been taken after the tussle going on between the administrative staff with the employees and the priest in the Mahakal temple for a week.

The government had appointed Ganesh Kumar Dhakad as the administrator of Shri Mahakaleshwar Temple Management Committee on 14 September 2021. After 1 year and 7 days, on 21 September 2022, Ganesh Dhakad was removed and Sandeep Soni was made the administrator of the temple committee. After the incident of fire in the temple, Sandeep Soni was removed and Mrinal Meena was made the temple administrator.

On August 10, the government ordered Mrinal Meena, who was the administrator of Shri Mahakaleshwar Temple Committee, to be the collector of Balaghat. Collector Neeraj Kumar Singh issued an order and appointed ADM Anukul Jain as the new administrator of Mahakal Temple Committee. After being the administrator for just one day, the Religious Trust and Endowments Department of the government re-appointed Ganesh Dhakad, who was earlier the administrator of the temple committee, to the post of administrator on August 14.
