Kolkata scandal: CBI reaches former principal Sandip Ghosh’s house, also raids forensic team doctor’s premises

Kolkata. A new update has come in the Kolkata rape-murder case. The CBI team reached the house of the former principal of the hospital, Dr. Sandeep Ghosh, to investigate the alleged financial irregularities at the crime spot RG Kar Hospital. Apart from this, the CBI anti-corruption branch has also reached four more locations, including the house of Dr. Debashish Som, demonstrator of forensic medicine and toxicology at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital.

One CBI team reached the residence of Dr. Sandeep Ghosh, the second team reached the residence of Dr. Debashish Som, professor of forensic medicine at RG Kar and the third team reached the residence of Sanjay Vashisht, former MSVP of RG Kar Hospital. The CBI anti-corruption branch reached the administrative block of RG Kar Medical College and Hospital.

Former Deputy Superintendent of the hospital Akhtar Ali has filed a complaint naming Dr. Debashish Som regarding the corruption and irregularities happening in the medical college and hospital.

The polygraph test of the main accused in the case, Sanjay Roy, will be done in the jail itself, where he is in judicial custody for 14 days. The rest of the six people are being tested in the CBI office. Sanjay’s polygraph test is necessary because he is the main accused in this case. We have to know from him how and when the crime was committed as per the suspicion, whether anyone else was also involved with him. Former Principal Sandeep Ghosh has been under suspicion since the beginning. He is being questioned even on the ninth day. He has been questioned for more than 100 hours so far.

CBI engaged in solving the mystery of Kolkata incident

The remaining four junior doctors in this case were tested because they were present on the spot that night. They can tell the big truth and reality related to this case. The victim lady doctor had dinner with them the night before the incident. They can shed light on what happened that night. A volunteer was tested because he has a lot of information. CBI is continuously trying to solve the mystery of Kolkata rape case, but till now it has not been able to reach any conclusion except the arrest of one accused Sanjay Roy. CBI has tried all the methods apart from recreation of crime scene. Dozens of people are being questioned continuously.

When and how did this horrific incident happen

This horrific incident happened on the night of 8-9 August, when the body of a trainee doctor was found in Kolkata’s RG Kar Medical College. This doctor was 31 years old, who was on night duty that day with three other doctors. Two of these doctors were from Chest Medicine Department, one was a trainee. One employee was from the hospital’s house staff. That night all these doctors and employees had dinner together.

After this, the lady doctor went to the seminar hall of the hospital to sleep at around 2 o’clock in the night. After this, Sanjay Roy came to this seminar hall from the back door and first he brutally murdered this girl and then raped her. The biggest thing is that this accused was neither from the hospital staff, nor was he a relative of any patient. He worked as a civic volunteer for Kolkata Police.
