Kolkata Doctor Rape Case: 2 doctors summoned and BJP leader, understand the details

New Delhi. The investigation of the rape-murder case of a doctor at Kolkata’s RG Kar Hospital is in the hands of the CBI. Meanwhile, Kolkata Police has filed FIRs in two separate cases. One of these cases is for spreading false information and the other for revealing the identity of the victim. In both these cases, Kolkata Police has sent a notice for questioning to two doctors and BJP leader Locket Chatterjee.

What is the matter?

Kolkata Police has summoned Dr. Subarna Goswami and Dr. Kunal Sarkar for questioning for allegedly spreading misleading information about the victim’s post-mortem report. However, Subarna Goswami claims that he has not received any notice so far. If he gets it, he will join the investigation. At the same time, Dr. Kunal Sarkar has admitted that he has received a notice from Kolkata Police this morning. He will appear at the police headquarters tomorrow as he is out for some work today.

Notice to BJP leader Locket Chatterjee

Kolkata Police has also summoned BJP former MP Locket Chatterjee for questioning. Police sources say that he revealed the identity of the victim and shared wrong information about the investigation. He has been asked to appear by 3 pm today.

The doctor was brutalized in the hospital

Let us tell you that on 8-9th August, a female doctor was brutalized in the seminar hall of RG Kar Hospital in Kolkata. She was a resident doctor posted on duty at the government RG Kar Medical College and Hospital was allegedly sexually assaulted. She was found unconscious in the seminar hall. She was immediately taken to the doctor, but she died during treatment. There were many injury marks on her body.

What did Nirbhaya’s mother say?

A video of Nirbhaya’s mother Asha Devi also surfaced, in which she said, ‘More than a week has passed since the incident but it is still not known whether the girl was beaten up by a single person or she was gang-raped… Such a heinous crime has happened with a doctor when she was on duty in the hospital. When doctors are not safe inside the hospital, what can we think about common women and girls? All the accused should be caught immediately. They should be punished immediately.’
