Kolkata case accused Sandip Ghosh attacked by angry mob, man slapped him amidst tight security

Kolkata. Sandip Ghosh, the principal of Kolkata’s RG Kar Medical College and Hospital, was attacked by an angry mob. While coming out of the court, a person slapped him hard on the head. He was present under tight security of CRPF and Kolkata Police, despite this people were seen angry against him. As soon as they saw him, people started abusing him. They started shouting slogans of thief-thief.

According to the information, on Tuesday, the CBI team reached Alipore Court with Sandip Ghosh. Even before his arrival, a large number of people had gathered there. People were very furious and angry. As soon as he arrived, protests started around him in the court premises. This crowd included a large section of common people along with lawyers. Many people also insulted Sandip inside the court room.

After this, security was increased in the court premises before taking him out. A large number of security forces were deployed. Since CRPF is responsible for the security of CBI, they also cordoned off the area by forming a human chain. But when CBI took Sandeep Ghosh out of the court room, a ruckus started. CBI was making him sit in the car, when a man slapped him.

Mamata government suspends Dr. Sandeep Ghosh

Meanwhile, a day after being arrested by CBI, Bengal government suspended Dr. Sandeep Ghosh. West Bengal Health Department has also suspended him from West Bengal Medical Council. Earlier, after hearing in Alipore Court, four accused including Sandeep were sent to eight days of police custody. Along with them are Biplab Singh, Suman Hazra and Afsar Ali Khan.
There are many sensational allegations of corruption against Sandeep Ghosh

Dr. Akhtar Ali, former Deputy Superintendent of RG Kar Medical College and Hospital, had lodged a complaint of financial irregularities in many cases in the institute during Sandeep Ghosh’s tenure as Principal. In this, allegations like smuggling of unclaimed bodies in the hospital, corruption in disposal of bio-medical waste, nepotism in construction tenders etc. were made. Earlier, Kolkata Police was investigating it.

The former principal has been arrested under these sections
The investigation was handed over to the CBI on the orders of the Kolkata High Court. On August 19, Kolkata Police registered a case against Sandeep Ghosh under Section 120B, 420 of IPC and Section 7 of Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988. After this, on August 24, after the order of the Kolkata High Court, the CBI took over the investigation. He has been arrested under the above sections.

An FIR in this case has also been registered in the name of Maa Tara Traders. It is being told that his father has worked in the medical college. Taking advantage of his father’s relations, he first started making posters and banners in the hospital, then started the work of supplying medicines.

Suman Hazra: Suman Hazra, who works in the supply of material in the hospital, and Sandeep Ghosh are very good friends. He used to buy government medicines and medical equipment and then sell them in the market. He also has a shop named Hazra Medical Shop. Suman and Biplab live in the same locality of Kolkata city. Both have been close associates and confidants of Sandeep Ghosh in corruption cases.

Afsar Ali Khan: One of the close associates of Sandeep Ghosh is Afsar Ali Khan. Former Deputy Superintendent of the hospital Dr. Akhtar Ali had told that Sandeep used to keep private security for his protection. In this, Afsar also worked as a bouncer along with Sanjay Roy. Apart from this, he played an important role in the financial irregularities in RG Karl Medical College and Hospital. He is also a close associate of Sandeep.
