New Delhi. Kangana Ranaut’s film ‘Emergency’ has now been postponed amid the ever-increasing controversy over it. Kangana Ranaut, MP from Mandi Lok Sabha seat, is also the lead actress and director of this film. Kangana Ranaut recently told that amid the threats being received due to the film, the CBFC has refused to give it a green signal for now. As far as the new release date of the film is concerned, there has been no response from Kangana Ranaut in this regard so far.

Waiting for green signal from the censor board

According to a report, the censor board is yet to give a ‘show cause notice’ or the things that need to be changed in the film to the makers. Amidst the sensitive content of the film and the growing controversies about it, it is clear that it may take some time to get the green signal for release. In such a situation, this film directed by Kangana Ranaut will not be able to release in theaters on September 6. According to the report, cuts have been suggested at many places but as far as certification is concerned, things are still at the review stage.

Kangana Ranaut wrote in her post, “There are rumors that our film Emergency has got the censor certificate. This is not true. Actually our film had got permission but after many threats, certification has been stopped. Death threats are being received. Censor board members are getting threats. We are under pressure not to show Indira Gandhi’s assassination, Bhindranwale and Punjab riots. I don’t know what will be left to show then.”
