Jaspreet Bumrah created history… took 200 test wickets

Melbourne: Today is the fourth day of the MCG test match between India and Australia. In this match, the Australian team scored 474 runs in their first innings. Steve Smith contributed an unbeaten 140 runs. In reply, the Indian team scored 369 runs in the first innings. That is, Australia got a lead of 105 runs on the basis of the first innings. Nitish Reddy scored a brilliant 114 runs in the first innings from India’s side.

When the second innings started, fast bowler Jaspreet Bumrah created havoc. Bumrah gave Australia one blow after another. Due to this, Australia lost six wickets for just 91 runs in the second innings. Bumrah took four of these six wickets. During this, Bumrah created history by getting Travis Head caught out by Nitish Reddy. Bumrah completed his 200 wickets in test cricket.

Boom Boom Bumrah has become the fastest Indian bowler to take 200 Test wickets in terms of balls. Bumrah surpassed Mohammad Shami, who had bowled 9896 balls to take 200 Test wickets. Overall Jasprit Bumrah is at number four in this matter. Bumrah has taken 8484 balls to take 200 Test wickets. Waqar Younus (Pakistan), Dale Steyn (South Africa) and Kagiso Rabada (South Africa) are ahead of Bumrah in this matter.

If seen, in terms of Test matches, Bumrah is jointly at number two in the list of Indian bowlers who have taken the fastest 200 wickets. Ravindra Jadeja also completed 200 wickets in the 44th Test. Among Indians, only R. Ashwin has been successful in taking 200 wickets faster than Bumrah. Ashwin achieved this feat in the 38th Test.

Bumrah is ahead in this matter
Jasprit Bumrah has the best average in terms of taking 200 or more Test wickets. In this case, Bumrah also left behind the West Indies trio of Malcolm Marshall, Joel Garner and Curtly Ambrose. Bumrah has so far taken 202* wickets in 44 Test matches at an average of 19.38*.
