Jammu-Kashmir: Terrorist attack in Ganderbal, 7 killed including a doctor, terrorists will not be spared: Amit Shah

Srinagar. 7 people lost their lives in a cowardly attack by terrorists in Ganderbal, Jammu and Kashmir. The dead include a local doctor and 6 employees working on the tunnel. Five of the dead are non-locals, including 2 officers and 3 workers.

5 workers have been seriously injured in this attack, who have been referred to Srinagar’s Sher-e-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS) for treatment. The attack took place in Sonamarg in Ganderbal district. After the attack, the security forces have started a search operation along with the Jammu and Kashmir Police.

6 people died on the spot
The terrorists who carried out the attack are being searched. In the terrorist attack, 6 people died on the spot and one died on the way to the hospital. According to the information, the terrorist attack took place at around 8.30 pm. At this time all the employees had gathered in the mess to eat food.

Terrorists who reached the mess started firing
Eyewitnesses say that when the workers were eating food in the mess, 3 terrorists reached there and started firing indiscriminately. Before anyone could understand anything, the terrorists fled from there after carrying out the incident. Two vehicles were also burnt to ashes in the firing of the terrorists. Sources say that this attack was carried out by The Resistance Front (TRF), an organization associated with Lashkar-e-Taiba.

In which tunnel were the workers working
Initial investigation revealed that the workers who were attacked were part of the construction team working on the Z Morh tunnel. Which connects Gagangir Valley of Ganderbal district of Central Kashmir to Sonamarg. Let us tell you that the work of this tunnel is being done by a construction company named Apco of Uttar Pradesh. Actually, the target has been set to complete this tunnel by 2025, so the work was going on here in full swing.

Sources say that from the terror attack it seems that the terrorists must have infiltrated a few days ago and reached Gangbal via Gurel. Those terrorists must have been told that many labourers and engineers of the construction company are working here.

Security reduces after Amarnath Yatra
The location where the terrorists have targeted the labourers working on the tunnel. That area is especially tight with security during the Amarnath Yatra. But after the Yatra, the security is reduced. Due to heavy snowfall in winter, there is almost no security here. It is believed that the terrorists took advantage of the reduced security and carried out the attack.

Two days ago, a labourer from Bihar was murdered
Two days ago, a migrant labourer from Bihar was allegedly murdered by terrorists in Shopian district of Jammu and Kashmir. Local people saw the body on the roadside on Friday morning. The labourer was later identified. He was immediately rushed to the nearby district hospital, but his life could not be saved.
