New Delhi. After the massacre in Pahalgam, India has now taken big actions against Pakistan. These include the Indus River Water Treaty. Now Pakistan is furious about this and is talking about giving a tough reply to India. At present, there has been no response from the Indian government on this. The Indian government has taken 5 big decisions against the neighboring country, including breaking the Indus Water Treaty.
According to the report, Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has criticized India’s decisions. Talking to a channel on Wednesday, Dar said that India has not presented any evidence regarding the terrorist incidents. He also said that India is taking these decisions in anger. He said, ‘India has not given any evidence regarding the terrorist incidents. Its announcement shows lack of seriousness.’
He said, ‘Whenever there is a crisis in India, it blames Pakistan for it.’ Dar has informed that after India’s announcements, a meeting of the NSC i.e. National Security Committee was held for Pakistan’s response. He said, ‘India’s statements are inappropriate and a response will be given by the NSC.’ He said, ‘It is not right to express anger on terrorism in this way.’
India’s action
In the wake of the Pahalgam terrorist attack, India on Wednesday gave a strong message to Pakistan and took several decisions including a massive reduction in diplomatic relations with it, suspending the Indus Water Treaty of 1960 and closing the Attari post. Late in the evening after the CCS meeting, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri informed the reporters about the decisions. He said that by May 1, through further reduction in diplomatic relations, the total number of people posted in the Pakistani and Indian High Commissions will be reduced from 55 to 30.
Misri said Pakistani nationals will not be allowed to travel to India under the SAARC Visa Exemption Scheme (SVES) and any Pakistani national present in India under the SVES visa has 48 hours to leave India.
Announcing five countermeasures, the foreign secretary said “Defence, Military, Naval and Air Advisors in the Pakistani High Commission have been declared persona non grata” and have been asked to leave India within a week.
He said India will also recall its Defence, Naval and Air Advisors from the Indian High Commission in Islamabad. “These posts will be deemed abolished in the respective High Commissions. Five support staff of the Service Advisors will also be recalled from both the High Commissions,” Misri said.
