New Delhi. An Indian Prime Minister is visiting Kuwait after 43 years. The Ministry of External Affairs said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Kuwait on 21-22 December, where he will be given a ceremonial welcome. The Indian Ministry of External Affairs has said about PM Modi’s Kuwait visit that, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Kuwait on the invitation of Kuwait’s Emir, His Excellency Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah. The Ministry of External Affairs said that this is the first visit of an Indian Prime Minister to Kuwait after more than four decades, which is why it holds great importance.
The visit of the Prime Minister of India to Kuwait may be happening after so many years, but the mutual coordination between the two countries has always been good. There is a partnership between India and Kuwait in many things. A large number of Indian workers are also settled in Kuwait. The situation is such that if Indian workers return from Kuwait, the general arrangements there may collapse.
Indian expatriate community in Kuwait
The Indian expatriate community in Kuwait numbers around 1 million and is the largest expatriate community. The Indian community is in progressive job sectors like white collar in industrial, electronic, infrastructure and engineering fields of Kuwait. Indian doctors and paramedics are also working in the Health Ministry and medical field of Kuwait. However, there is also a large number of Indians living illegally in Kuwait. They are in low budget jobs there.
