New Delhi: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee wrote a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday. In the letter written to the PM, Mamata Banerjee said that the central government should make a strict law for the speedy hearing of the rape case, so that the process of hearing of the culprits can be completed within 15 days through the fast track court and the culprit can be punished. CM Mamata Banerjee has tweeted the letter written to PM Modi and has demanded this.

As you are aware that there is a ruckus over the doctor rape case in Kolkata. The CBI is investigating this matter. CM Mamata Banerjee had demanded death penalty for the culprit. She has wrote in her letter that cases of rape and murder are increasing in the country. On an average, 90 rapes are happening every day. Strict laws should be brought immediately to stop such ‘important and sensitive’ incidents.

He wrote in the letter that within 15 days of the occurrence of such incidents, the hearing process should be completed through fast track court and punishment should be ensured. Earlier, TMC MP Abhishek Banerjee wrote in a post on social media on Thursday, “A strict anti-rape law should be brought, which will ensure identification and punishment of the culprits within 50 days of the incident and provide for the harshest punishment.

He said that in the last 10 days, 900 cases of rape have been reported in the country. 90 rape cases are reported every day. This means that four rape cases are registered every hour and one rape case is registered every 15 minutes. Abhishek Banerjee said that in such a situation, strict anti-rape laws have become necessary in the country. He wrote that all the state governments should put pressure on the central government to make strict anti-rape laws, anything less than this will be purely symbolic and will not really work.

BJP co-in-charge in West Bengal Amit Malviya has targeted Mamata Banerjee after CM Mamata Banerjee wrote a letter to PM Modi. He wrote that on one hand she is hiding the rape and murder of a young female doctor in Kolkata, while on the other hand she has the guts to write a letter to the Prime Minister on crimes against women.

He wrote that the woman who defended Sandeshkhali and kept silent on the public beating in Chopra should first set her house in order. She is the most incompetent administrator in the country. West Bengal is the most unsafe place for women today, where the police force acts like a doormat for the ruling TMC.
