Lucknow: On the instructions of Samajwadi Party President and former UP CM Akhilesh Yadav, a 15-member delegation of SP is going to visit Sambhal today. This SP delegation is trying to go to Sambhal to gather information regarding the violence that took place during the survey of Jama Masjid after the court order on November 24. There is a ban on gathering of more than five people together, any procession or demonstration in Sambhal.
However, the administration is trying to stop the SP leaders included in the delegation in their homes and home districts. Police force is deployed outside the Lucknow residence of Leader of Opposition in Uttar Pradesh Assembly Mata Prasad Pandey. The District Magistrate of Sambhal had sent a message to Mata Prasad Pandey about the imposition of prohibitory orders under Section 163 of the Indian Civil Security Code (BNSS) in the district and had requested him not to come here.
According to the announced program of Mata Prasad Pandey, he will first go to Bareilly. After the meeting with SP leaders in Bareilly, they have a plan to go to Sambhal. On the other hand, the police force does not want to let Mata Prasad Pandey go to Sambhal. On this, the senior SP leader said, ‘We have the right to go anywhere. Why is there police guard? Media can go to Sambhal, why can’t we? Further strategy will be made soon.’ Moradabad SP MP Ruchi Vora said, ‘As long as these officers, who killed people, remain, the victims will not get justice. People will get justice only when these officers are punished and suspended.’
SP President Akhilesh Yadav wrote in X post about the Sambhal case, ‘Imposing a ban is a failure of the BJP government’s governance, administration and government management. If the government had already imposed such a ban on those who dreamt of causing riots and made people raise frenzied slogans, then the atmosphere of harmony and peace in Sambhal would not have deteriorated. Just like BJP changes the entire cabinet at once, similarly the entire administrative board from top to bottom in Sambhal should be suspended and dismissed by taking real action accusing them of negligence in conspiracy and a case of taking someone’s life should also be filed. BJP has lost.’
These 15 leaders are included in the SP delegation
The 15-member SP delegation includes Leader of Opposition in the Legislative Assembly Mata Prasad Pandey, Leader of Opposition in the Legislative Council Lal Bihari Yadav, SP State President Shyam Lal Pal, Muzaffarnagar MP Harendra Malik, Moradabad MP Ruchi Veera, Kairana MP Iqra Hasan, Sambhal MP Ziaur Rahman Barq and Aonla MP Neeraj Maurya, MLAs Kamal Akhtar, Ravidas Mehrotra, Nawab Iqbal Mahmood and Pinky Singh Yadav, SP’s Sambhal District President Asgar Ali Ansari, Moradabad District President Jaiveer Singh Yadav and Bareilly District President Shiv Charan Kashyap.
Tight security arrangements have been made in Sambhal, UP after the stone pelting incident on November 24 regarding the Shahi Jama Masjid survey. Police, PAC and RFF personnel have been deployed at every nook and corner. Yesterday, the Supreme Court had directed the Sambhal trial court not to proceed further in the case against Shahi Jama Masjid and asked the mosque committee to approach the Allahabad High Court with its petition. The mosque committee had filed a petition in the Supreme Court demanding cancellation of the survey order.
The SP leaders plan to meet the victims and prepare a report and submit it to their president Akhilesh Yadav. On the visit of SP leaders to Sambhal, Moradabad Commissioner Anjaneya Kumar Singh said that prohibitory orders are in force in the district. No one can go here right now. Peace has been established in Sambhal and such political visits can again cause instability. The judicial commission formed to investigate the Sambhal violence will reach Moradabad today and will take information about the entire incident from Commissioner Anjaneya Kumar Singh. Tomorrow the judicial commission will go to Sambhal and will visit the violence-hit area along with the District Magistrate and Superintendent of Police.
Judicial commission formed to investigate Sambhal violence
The violence of 24 November in Sambhal has heated up the country’s politics. On one hand, the violent mob is accused of violence, stone pelting and arson, on the other hand, questions are being raised on the role of the police-administration. Four people were killed in this violence and more than 20 policemen were injured. The UP government has formed a judicial commission to find out the real reasons for this violence and identify the people involved in it.
The commission will submit its report to the government in two months
Retired judge of Allahabad High Court Justice Devendra Kumar Arora has been made the chairman of this commission. Retired IAS Amit Mohan Prasad and Arvind Kumar Jain will be the other two members of the commission. The commission will investigate whether this incident was a well-planned conspiracy or happened suddenly. If it was a conspiracy, then who were the people behind it. Also, whether the steps taken by the police and the district administration to maintain law and order after the incident were correct or not. The judicial commission will submit its investigation report to the government within two months.
