Ujjain: Chief Minister Mohan Yadav made a big announcement in Ujjain. Announcing the change in the name of ‘Vikram University’, he said that now its name will be ‘Samrat Vikramaditya University’. CM Mohan Yadav said that although this university is named after Emperor Vikramaditya, many people are unaware of this.
It is worth noting that the 29th convocation was organized in the university on the occasion of Vikram Samvat 2082. Governor Mangubhai Patel and CM Mohan Yadav were present on this occasion. The Governor of Madhya Pradesh honored Chief Minister Mohan Yadav with the honorary degree of D.Litt. On this, the Governor jokingly told the CM, “You became the Chief Minister without taking the initiation.”
CM Mohan Yadav replied that he had left the university after studying, but the convocation could not be held. Now this has become possible due to the grace of the Governor. Chief Minister Mohan Yadav said, “Congratulations to all the students from my side. Vikram University was named after Emperor Vikramaditya, so many scholars have demanded that its name should be Emperor Vikramaditya University. Our government will move forward in this direction.”
