Former minister and Congress MLA arrested by ED, action taken in this case

New Delhi: ED has arrested former Excise Minister of Chhattisgarh and current Congress MLA Kawasi Lakhma in the liquor scam. According to the information received, in the much-discussed two thousand crore liquor scam case of Chhattisgarh, the Enforcement Directorate today called former Excise Minister Kawasi Lakhma and his son Harish Lakhma for questioning for the third time. After interrogation, ED has arrested both of them.

Earlier, ED had raided the premises of Kawasi Lakhma, who was a minister in the Chhattisgarh government and is currently a Congress MLA, and his son. A total of seven locations were raided under the provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA). These included Lakhma’s residence in Raipur and his son Harish Lakhma’s residence in Sukma district. Apart from this, raids were also conducted at the locations of some other people.
