Hyderabad/New Delhi. The Tirupati temple laddu issue has now taken a political turn. Ever since it has been revealed that animal fat is being used instead of ghee to make Tirupati temple laddu i.e. Prasadam, there has been an uproar in the country. Meanwhile, former chief priest of Tirumala Tirupati temple Raman Dikshathalu has made a big revelation. Raman Dikshathalu has said that ‘I knew this many years ago.’ He further said that they have committed a big sin against the faith and purity of the people.
Let us tell you that Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu had accused of spoiling the sanctity of Tirupati Laddu Prasad by using animal fat instead of ghee. But the YSR Congress Party has denied this allegation. In such an environment when this issue has turned into a storm, the National Dairy Development Board investigated Tirupati Laddu and the report came out.
What did the former priest say?
In this case, Raman Dikshathalu, former chief priest of Tirumala Tirupati temple said, “I had noticed adulteration in the cow ghee used to prepare Tirupati Laddu Prasad many years ago. Even after placing a complaint in this regard before the concerned officials and the head of the Devasthanam, they did not pay attention to it.”
He further said, “The new government has promised to clear all these misconceptions. They used to buy ghee from government dairies and prepare it with the same ghee. For the last 5 years, they have been committing the great sin of mixing animal fat and fish oil in Tirupati Laddu. We should ensure that such big sins do not happen again in the holy temple, where crores of devotees have deep faith and devotion.”
In this case, the Andhra Chief Minister who made the allegations on Tirupati Laddu is ready to take oath in the temple with his family, while the former chairman of the Devasthanam Board of Trustees challenged him that Chandrababu Naidu should not say anything without proof. Chandrababu Naidu’s allegation on Tirupati Laddu has been called a political stunt by former chairman of Devasthanam Board of Trustees Subba Reddy. Telugu Desam Party spokesperson Anam Venkat Ramana Reddy, who released the results of research done by the National Dairy Resources Development Institute in this matter, accused this act of insulting Hindus all over the world.
