December 26, 2024

New Delhi: Azerbaijan Airlines plane crashed on Wednesday. 38 people died in this accident. But many theories are coming out about how the plane crashed. From Russian attack to GPS jamming, many claims are being made.

Azerbaijan Airlines plane crashed during emergency landing in Kazakhstan. The plane crashed near the coast of the Caspian Sea. According to a Reuters report, the plane crashed immediately after a drone attack in southern Russia. Airports in this area have been closed earlier also due to drone attacks. Russian airports on the route of the plane were also closed on Wednesday morning.

There is speculation in the Russian media that Russia’s air defense mistakenly targeted the plane and struck it, thinking it to be a Ukrainian drone. A Telegram channel named Fighterbomber has released a video clip, in which big holes can be seen in the plane. It is being said that such holes are caused by shelling or explosions.

A post by Flightradar24 said that the plane’s GPS was jammed. Russia has been accused of jamming GPS transmissions in the past as well. After this incident, Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev cut short his visit to Russia. He left from St. Petersburg. He said that according to the information I have received, the plane changed its route between Baku and Grozny due to bad weather.

This is a huge tragedy, which has brought pain to the people of Azerbaijan. At the same time, Azerbaijan’s Prosecutor General Officer said within a few hours of the accident that he has started investigating the matter.

It is known that Azerbaijan Airlines flight Embraer E190AR took off from Baku Airport at 6.28 am local time. The plane was to land at Grozny Airport in Chechnya, Russia after about an hour of flight. However, shortly after the flight, it collided with a bird.

In the viral video on social media, the plane was seen moving up and down in the air like a fish swimming in water. Flight tracking sites also released a map of the plane’s movement, in which it can be seen how the plane lost control in the air.

It is being told that there were 67 passengers on board the plane, out of which 42 passengers died, and 25 passengers survived. The passengers on board the plane included 37 Azerbaijani citizens, 16 Russian citizens, 6 Kazakh citizens and 3 Kyrgyz citizens.
