New Delhi. Dubai Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Maktoum is coming to India on a two-day visit on 8-9 April. During his visit, he will hold meetings with External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and participate in a business roundtable to strengthen India-UAE relations. The Dubai Crown’s two-day visit to India was announced by the Ministry of External Affairs on Monday.
The Ministry of External Affairs said in a statement that Sheikh Hamdan’s visit is taking place at the invitation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi who will host a working lunch for the Crown Prince on April 8. This is his first official visit to India as the Crown Prince of Dubai.
The Ministry of External Affairs said that several ministers, senior government officials and a high-level business delegation will also visit India along with Sheikh Hamdan.
The statement said, ‘The visit of the Crown Prince will further strengthen the India-UAE Comprehensive Strategic Partnership (CSP) and strengthen our multifaceted relations with Dubai. The Crown Prince will hold meetings with Jaishankar and Rajnath Singh during his visit.’
During his visit, the Crown Prince will participate in a business roundtable meeting with prominent business leaders from both sides in Mumbai. This interaction will strengthen India-UAE economic and commercial cooperation in traditional and future areas.
4.3 million expatriates from India live in UAE
At the same time, traditionally Dubai has played an important role in India’s commercial, cultural and people-to-people exchanges with the UAE. The statement said, ‘Most of the approximately 4.3 million expatriates from India in the UAE live and work in Dubai.’
