Deputy CM, Home, Industry and Urban Development… Shiv Sena wants mega ministry of the government, not the post of Chief Minister

December 01, 2024

Mumbai: The name of the Chief Minister has not been announced in Maharashtra yet. Meanwhile, big news is coming from sources, according to which, Shinde faction is adamant on the demand of the post of Deputy Chief Minister in the new government and all the 9 departments that it had in the previous government, including the Home Department.

According to sources, Shiv Sena will reveal its future strategy only after the decision on the CM. The 9 departments that are being demanded include the Urban Development Ministry as well. It is being said that in the meeting of CM Shinde, Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar with Amit Shah in Delhi, no name was announced or information was given for the CM. It was only indicated that the CM will be from BJP.

Shiv Sena is waiting for BJP’s plan
It is being considered whether CM Shinde will join the government or not, but it is being waited for the BJP to first announce the face of the CM. After the meeting in Delhi, Shinde went to his native village in Satara district and will leave Satara at 2 pm today. It is not yet decided whether the CM will go to his official residence Varsha Bungalow or stay at his private residence in Thane. At the same time, BJP has announced the date of swearing-in of the new government of Maharashtra. The Mahayuti leaders are likely to discuss the meeting again on Monday. Shiv Sena will wait for the announcement of CM by BJP before revealing its plans.

Swearing-in ceremony will be held on December 5
Let us tell you that BJP has announced that the swearing-in ceremony of the new government in Maharashtra will be held on December 5 at Azad Maidan. This is being seen as a signal to Eknath Shinde to take his decision soon on whether to join the Devendra Fadnavis-led government or not. Maharashtra BJP chief Chandrashekhar Bawankule said in a video post on X that the swearing-in ceremony will be held at Azad Maidan and PM Modi will attend it.

BJP’s confidence is based on the numbers it has in the assembly. BJP has 132 MLAs of its own and it also has the support of five independent MLAs. In this way, it needs the support of only 8 MLAs to prove majority on its own in the 288-member Maharashtra Legislative Assembly. With the support of 41 MLAs of Ajit Pawar’s party NCP, this figure reaches 178.
