New Delhi: In the assembly elections in Delhi, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is going to cut the tickets of MLAs on a large scale. Senior party leader and MLA Dilip Pandey from Timarpur has also lost his ticket. Dilip Pandey may have expressed his consent to do some more work in the party, but his supporters have started raising their voice of rebellion. The entire wing of AAP in Timarpur has simultaneously announced their resignation from their posts. While resigning, they have announced not to work for the new potential candidate. In a video, a female worker is also seen crying.
In the viral video, it is seen that more than three dozen people are standing together with alleged resignations in their hands and they are expressing their displeasure with the party’s decision. The workers and office bearers are also saying that they are not leaving their membership, but are resigning from all the posts. In the video, he is saying, ‘We are the workers of Aam Aadmi Party, Timarpur Assembly, We all resign from our posts, not from our party membership. We cannot allow the person who has been given a ticket by the party, against whom we have fought three elections, to contest elections from here. We do not agree with this. The reason why our Dilip Pandey ji’s ticket was cut should also be told. Until this decision is taken, none of us will work.’ However, the workers are also seen raising slogans of Aam Aadmi Party Zindabad.
Many officials who resigned have also shared it on social media and tagged other big leaders including the party’s national convenor Arvind Kejriwal. All of them first held a meeting together and expressed their grief over the party’s decision. Some of Dilip Pandey’s supporting officials also started crying. The resignation letter shared on Instagram by Sundar Malhotra, the party’s social media in-charge from Timarpur, said that he cannot fight for a person who is notorious for buying tickets and who has been defeated three times.
On Friday, on one hand Dilip Pandey informed on social media that he is not going to contest the upcoming assembly elections, while on the other hand BJP leader Surendra Pal Singh Bittu joined Aam Aadmi Party. After Bittu, who has been an MLA from Timarpur twice, joined AAP, he is believed to be sure to get a ticket from here. In view of this, AAP workers have expressed their opposition. There has been no response from Dilip Pandey on the displeasure of his supporters yet.
Announcing not contesting the elections, Dilip Pandey had written, ‘After discharging the responsibility of first building an organization in politics and then contesting elections, now it is time to do something else by staying in Aam Aadmi Party. Whoever contests the elections in Timarpur assembly, Arvind Kejriwal will become the Chief Minister of Delhi, and all of us Delhiites will together ensure this. I believe that the capital of my relations will remain with me, I wish that if anyone of you contacts me, then this belief will be strengthened further.’
