Cow dung will be used to light Diwali in America and Mauritius

October 31, 2024

Jaipur. In Pinjrapol Gaushala of Jaipur, lamps are being prepared from cow dung. Where women from rural areas on behalf of women self-help groups are busy making colorful diyas from the dung of the indigenous cow. These lamps are being liked not only in Jaipur but also in the markets of many states of the country. Now orders are coming in from abroad as well. Be it America or Mauritius, lakhs of lamps have been sent to many countries, where people of Indian origin will illuminate Diwali abroad with cow dung with Vedic practice.

About 10 women in the cowshed are preparing about 8 thousand diyas in a day. To make them, apart from cow dung, Janmangam, Jatamas, clay and oil are used, which look beautiful in texture as well as in red and golden colors. Because red color is considered auspicious in Sanatan Dharma. The price of these lamps is also very low as compared to Chinese lights.

Along with beauty, lamps made of cow dung are also making farmers aware of organic farming. These lamps made of cow dung are being sold in the Indian market both online and offline, but the special thing is that this time an order of 10 lakh lamps has been received from America alone.

Coordinator Divyanshi and Ankit Acharya believe that this time Diwali should be celebrated with Vedic principles instead of artificial Chinese lamps. Because in the Vedas and Puranas, Lakshmi resides in cow dung, so there are about 5 thousand cows in Pinjrapol Gaushala and the All India Gaushala Parishad is making lamps from the dung of these cows and empowering local women by giving them employment, and is also demanding that the cow be declared ‘Rashtra Mata’.
